This fall members of the Nanigans team have spoken from London to Los Angeles on panels ranging from mobile gaming to the ROI of social. Here is a recap of the panels, followed by events you can find us speaking at through the remainder of 2012.
Our COO, Marc Grabowski, was invited to speak at Ad:Tech London this fall. The Ad:Tech conference series gives brands and agencies the chance to meet and learn from the most innovative players in the advertising and digital media space. Speakers from companies like American Airlines, Gucci, King.com, and Google took the stage at Ad:Tech London to discuss the nuances, best practices, and success stories in digital media. Marc, Abeed Jammohamed of RadiumOne and Iain MacMillan of RMM spoke on the “Social Media Marketing in Practice” panel and discussed ways to improve ROI through paid advertising on social media networks.
Mobile Gaming Summit
Our General Manager of Games, John Dobrowolski, recently spoke at the Second Annual Mobile Gaming Summit which was held at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City. The day long summit brought together speakers from across the gaming industry to talk about trends specifically related to mobile gaming; speakers also provided insights and tips on mobile game advertising and development. John joined Demetri Detsaridis, of Zynga, Sam Z. Glassenberg of Funtactix, and Kenny Rosenblatt of Arkadium on the “Social+Mobile” panel, to look at the intersection of social media and mobile games.
Our VP of Business Development, Yahya Mokhtarzada, recently spoke at MediaPosts’s OMMA Social “All About Data” conference in Los Angeles. The summit brought together digital media professionals from companies like Microsoft, Fox Broadcasting, and Facebook to discuss how to best leverage data when running social and mobile marketing campaigns. Peggy Fry of AddThis, Mateo Gutierrez of Socialtyze, Dave Martin of Ignited, and Jon Siegal of Fan Appz, Inc. joined Yahya on the “CPM to CPF: How to Measure the Cost Per Fan” panel. The purpose of the panel was to teach attendees how to use the data Facebook provides advertisers to identify a brand’s most valuable customers who will yield strong lifetime value.
Social Media Breakfast
Our Director Of Campaign Management, Carly Rodgers will be speaking on November 8th at the Social Media Breakfast’s (SMB30), “The Next Frontier: Social Engagement for Value Creation” event. This month’s SMB is hosted by Moontoast and will take place in their Boston offices. Social Media Breakfasts are held in over 50 cities worldwide and bring together social media professionals to meet, share, and learn about the industry over breakfast. Carly will join Gary Lombardo of Demandware, Errol Apostolopoulos of Moontoast, and Paul Toms of Wayfair to have a conversation about the obstacles and solutions of capturing audiences with the most value and measuring their performance for ongoing lifetime value.
Social Network and Social Media Analysis: Methods, Models and Applications
Our CEO, Ric Calvillo will be speaking at the Neural Information Processing Systems Foundation’s (NIPS) Social Network and Social Media Analysis: Methods, Models and Applications Workshop, hosted by Stanford University. Ric will join Jennifer Chayes, Managing Director at Microsoft Research New England, Stephen E. Fienberg, Professor of Statistics and Social Science at Carnegie Mellon University, Zoubin Ghahramani, Professor at University of Cambridge, Sharad Goel, Senior Researcher at Microsoft Research, and Andrew Tomkins, Engineering Director at Google Research. The panelists will educate attendees around technical and sophisticated social media data measurement. This workshop aims to bring experts in disciplines like sociology, economics, mathematics, physics, and biology together to help solve problems when reading data pulled from social media networks.
