Last month Nanigans kicked off their partnership with Startup Institute Boston to connect with students participating in their two-month immersive program that helps build the skills necessary to become a successful employee and leader at local startups. Accepted students spend their time working on projects modeled after challenges faced by startups everyday. And they also get the opportunity to learn from Boston’s brightest entrepreneurs and network with the area’s startups. Startup Institute students have a broad range of experience and specialities. We have enjoyed meeting people who are recent college graduates, seasoned programmers, and biomedical engineers.
Nanigans partnered with a group of four students who took on a project we created just for them to work on throughout the summer. The four students all have an interest in marketing and with this in mind we asked them to do a competitive analysis of marketing strategies used by our competitors. The team was asked to map out the performance marketing ecosystem, analyze and record granular data on competitor’s marketing methods, and examine their partnerships with other companies.
We also got the opportunity to join the students in the classroom when Chris Wilson, one of our Account Executives, taught a session on best practices for outbound sales. Our VP of Product, Per Sandell and Director of Marketing, Cheryl Morris hosted a fireside chat as well, where they discussed Nanigans’ predictive lifetime value technology, culture at Nanigans, and their predictions for the future of the advertising industry.
Interacting with the students has been the best part of our experience with the Startup Institute; we are continually impressed by the caliber of the students and how diligent they are with their work. It has been wonderful getting to know so many of them and we look forward to keeping in touch with them in the future.
