A Googol Ways to Target Your Audience and It’s Not on Google

A little known fact—Google was named after the number googol—a number with a 100 zeros following it:

A million: 1,000,000
A billion: 1,000,000,000,
A googol: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 …. 000 (one-hundred zeros!)

Facebook offers a number of ways for brands to message to their intended audience through paid advertising—demographic, partner categories, and custom audiences are just a few. What most marketers don’t realize is that there are nearly an endless number of options for targeting on Facebook.

But just how many total options are available? Nanigans asked its Data Science team to estimate the targeting possibilities. The answer is larger than we thought—Facebook offers not just more targeting opportunities than Google, but offers more than a Googol ways to target your intended audience.
