Co-founder & CEO
Ric Calvillo is Nanigans’ co-founder and CEO. Ric has over 20 years of startup experience, having founded and led three technology companies. Prior to co-founding Nanigans, Ric was Founder & CEO of Incipient, Inc., a venture-backed data storage infrastructure software company.
Prior to Incipient, Ric founded and led Conley Corporation, which was acquired by EMC Corporation in 1998. Conley Corp. developed enterprise data storage software including the award-winning EMC PowerPath. Ric spent three years at EMC Corporation as General Manager of the EMC Cambridge Software Center. Ric holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Co-founder & CTO
Claude Denton is Nanigans’ co-founder and CTO. Prior to Nanigans, Claude was Co-Founder and CTO of CourseAdvisor, a data-driven, online lead generator serving the education industry. CourseAdvisor was acquired by The Washington Post Company in 2008 and was subsequently renamed Avenue100. Claude continued as CTO of Avenue100 until joining Nanigans in 2010. Previously, Claude led product development for Network Elements, a provider of access network solutions for optical networks, and developed pioneering high-definition video subsystems for Intergraph Corporation.
Claude holds 13 patents and four applications in the areas of communications and video processing architecture. Claude has BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
Business & Operations
Scott Ward is Nanigans’ SVP of Finance. Scott comes to Nanigans with extensive experience of efficiently scaling technology companies in high growth sectors and emerging markets.
Prior to joining Nanigans Scott was the CFO at Chitika, an online ad network delivering advertising and publisher solutions for mobile, social and local. Scott graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in Economics.
SVP Business Development
Ben Tregoe is Nanigans’ SVP of Business Development. Ben’s team is responsible for developing and building partnerships with Facebook, Twitter, Google, mobile exchanges and other inventory sources, driving strategy, developing revenue streams, data partnerships and global expansion. He has over 14 years of experience in the digital advertising and marketing industry.
Prior to nanigans, Ben founded and ran successful startups in the digital marketing space including companies in mobile marketing and app development, local commerce and non-profit commerce. Before that, Ben was a television writer for Disney and worked in private equity at Lazard Freres. Ben graduated with a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
John Marsland is Nanigans’ SVP of Analytics. John has 10 years of experience in digital advertising and analytics, most recently at Zynga and CNET Networks.
Before joining Nanigans, John built Zynga’s early User Acquisition team and technology. John wrote Zynga’s original bid management software which powered over a trillion ad impression buys on the Facebook platform, and he has the distinction as the largest Facebook marketer to date. In 2011, he won Microsoft’s 25th Anniversary Excel contest. John graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a BA in Cognitive Neuroscience.
Dan Slagen is Nanigans’ SVP of Marketing. He oversees all things marketing, Nanigans VAR/partner program and serves on the executive team. A fervent proponent of thought leadership and education, Dan has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, NASDAQ, Business Insider, Mashable…etc and is a frequent speaker at annual marketing conferences including Advertising Week and Fashion Week.
Prior to Nanigans, Dan was leading Global Marketing Relations at HubSpot in which he was responsible for global advertising, events and partnerships with over 60 companies, including Google, Salesforce, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more. Prior to HubSpot, Dan worked in Product Management at WayFair, and has a balanced mix of leading marketing teams on both the client and agency side.
SVP Corporate Development
Scott Rafer is Nanigans’ SVP of Corporate Development. Rafer has been a leader in the internet publishing sector, working with tech companies to develop the ‘next big thing’ for over 18 years.
Until its recent acquisition by Nanigans, Scott was the co-founder and CEO of Lumatic, a software company that developed maps for pedestrians, cyclists and transit users. Prior to Lumatic, Scott was the co-founder and director at Mashery, an API infrastructure, strategy and developer outreach management company; Mashery was acquired by Intel. Before Mashery, Scott was the CEO of Lookery, one of the first ad networks on Facebook, with portions sold to AdKnowledge in 2008. Scott graduated with a double Bachelors Degree in Management of Technology programs.
Managing Director, EMEA
Will is Nanigans’ Managing Director, EMEA; Will runs Nanigans’ London team and European business partnerships. Prior to joining Nanigans, Will spent a number of years at Google in various sales and operations roles before joining Techlightenment (acquired by Experian PLC) to launch their Alchemy Social business which was one of the first Facebook advertising solutions. Will attended The University of Edinburgh.
Managing Director, Asia
Cyrille Even is Nanigans’ Managing Director, Asia. Cyrille runs Nanigans’ Singapore team and Asia business partnerships. Cyrille comes to Nanigans with extensive professional experience in media, advertising, multinational gaming, social networks, and telecommunications companies, as well as significant background as an entrepreneur with successful startups in various countries. Prior to Nanigans, Cyrille was Senior Partner in Stareach.com (wireless gateway) and Bootic.com (eCommerce).
Previously, Cyrille was the CEO of Boonty Asia, a video game platform successfully sold in December 2008 to Nexway. Cyrille holds an MBA from Ottawa University in Canada and a Master of Science from University of Grenoble, France.
Managing Director, Australia
Simon Holt is Nanigans’ Managing Director, Australia. Simon runs Nanigans’ Australia team and Australian business partnerships. Before joining Nanigans, Simon was Commercial Director for Australia and New Zealand at Turn, a programmatic marketing company. Previously, Simon was the Senior Sales Manager at Sizmek (formerly MediaMind).
Simon graduated with a BA in Commerce from The University of Birmingham.
John Dobrowolski is Nanigans’ VP of Accounts. An early employee with Nanigans, John brings extensive experience in business operations, management, and marketing strategy in direct response and mobile advertising. Prior to joining Nanigans, he spearheaded Brand Business Development with mobile company, LevelUp.
Previously John was responsible for 600+ developer relationships as the Head of Developer Relations for I-Play, a top casual games distributor. John holds a BA in Economics from Tufts University.
RVP Campaign Management
Carly Rogers is Nanigans’ RVP of Campaign Management. Carly was the first employee brought on to manage campaigns. She has built Nanigans’ Campaign Management Team of highly technical Platform Specialists and Media Buyers who are tasked with ensuring advertisers achieve their performance marketing goals. Prior to Nanigans, Carly was the Social SEM Manager at Avenue100 Media Solutions, Inc.
Carly graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in Business Administration.
VP Business Development
Yahya Mokhtarzada is Nanigans’ VP of Business Development. Prior to joining Nanigans, Yahya served as Director of Business Development & Social Strategy at Appssavvy, a social activity platform, bringing together large brands and leading app developers to create engaging social media campaigns. Previously Yahya was also the first employee at SGN (funded by Greylock, Founders Fund and sold to MindJolt).
VP Business Development
Nick Gianos is Nanigans’ VP of Business Development. Prior to Nanigans, Nick was Manager of Strategic PMD Partnerships at Facebook. As an early employee of Facebook, Nick played a key role in developing their Preferred Marketing Developer partnership program. Nick graduated with a BSE from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ken Mohring is Nanigans’ VP of Sales. Ken has 20 years of experience in online marketing, data collection, content integration, and building multi-marketing partnerships. Prior to Nanigans, Ken was the VP of Platform Sales at Datalogix, a company that builds and analyzes audiences based on offline purchase data. Ken ran a team of DSPs, adnets, agencies, and agency trading desks. Ken attended Emory University.

Chief Strategy Officer
Andrew Lau is Nanigans’ Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to joining Nanigans, Andrew was the Founder and CEO of LoopIt, a service dedicated to helping users make informed decisions about their online purchases. Nanigans acquired LoopIt in February 2014. Previously, Andrew was part of the founding technology team and VP of Engineering at e-commerce search leader Endeca, which was acquired by Oracle in 2011.
Andrew has three patents in hierarchical data-driven search and navigation systems. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Joe Cuccinelli is Nanigan’s SVP of Product. Joe and his Product Team are responsible for setting the product strategy, defining the features and driving the delivery of Ad Engine. Joe brings over 13 years of product development experience to Nanigans within ad tech, social and mobile disciplines.
Prior to Nanigans, Joe served as the VP of Product for Care.com where he led a team of 11 product managers responsible for launching products for the worlds largest online marketplace to find care. Before Care.com, he was the VP of Product at Bluefin Labs, a social TV analytics company acquired by Twitter.
Most notably, Joe also led defining the product strategy and launching Apple’s iAd Advertising Network in 2010. Apple had acquired Joe’s previous company, Quattro Wireless, where he led the product team in launching one of the first mobile advertising networks. Joe graduated with a BS in Accounting from Seton Hall University.
Per Sandell is Nanigans’ VP of Product. Per is responsible for driving Nanigans’ complex product roadmap and working with engineering to build Ad Engine. Prior to joining Nanigans, Per was the Implementation Engineer and Toolbar product lead at FreeCause, a company that specialized in cloud-based technology that enables major loyalty programs worldwide to monetize and reward their members for their everyday online activity. FreeCause was acquired by Rakuten in 2009.
VP Product, Data
Antonio Garcia is Nanigans’ VP of Product, Data. Before Nanigans, he designed, built, and managed Facebook Exchange, Facebook’s real-time bidding ad exchange.
Prior to FBX, Antonio was Facebook’s first ads targeting product manager, responsible for all Facebook ads targeting. Previously, Antonio founded AdGrok, a search marketing startup backed by Y Combinator, Chris Sacca, TriplePoint Capital and others, which was acquired by Twitter in 2011. Before ad tech, Antonio modeled and priced credit derivatives as a financial quant on Goldman Sachs’ trading desk.
Jon Palmer is Nanigans’ VP of Applications. Jon is responsible for the overall activities of the business intelligence, application development, and the strategic direction of the roadmap. Prior to Nanigans, Jon was the Software Engineering Manager at Care.com, a company that provides services used by families to find caregivers. Jon graduated with a PhD from the Oxford University.
Derek Yimoyines is Nanigans’ VP of Engineering. Derek is the lead for software development and manages the Nanigans’ engineering team to ensure product development that is timely and reliable. Prior to Nanigans, Derek was the Director of Software Development at Avenue100, a leading analytics-based performance marketing company that helps institutions acquire qualified customers.
Tony Ezzat is Nanigans’ VP of Optimization. He leads Nanigans’ team of data scientists, who are responsible for building Nanigans’ proprietary predictive lifetime analytics algorithms and platform. Tony has 15 years of experience specializing in analytics, machine learning, optimization, and information retrieval.
Prior to Nanigans, Tony was the Director of Analytics for online travel company KAYAK. Tony began his career at KAYAK as a Principal Scientist and was promoted to Director in under 3 years. While at Kayak, Tony recruited and managed the company’s Analytics Team, and led the development of various data-driven features for the metasearch engine. Prior to KAYAK, Tony was a Principal Research Scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs in Boston. Tony graduated with BS, MS, and PhD degrees, all in Computer Science from MIT.
VP IT Operations
Dave is Nanigans’ VP of IT Operations and is responsible for all technology operations. Prior to joining Nanigans, Dave was Director of Technical Operations at Zoom Information, the most comprehensive database of business information available on the web.
Before ZoomInfo, Dave was Manager of IT for BuyerZone, leading the technical teams during the successful sale and integration of that company to Reed Business Information in 2007. He then assumed a new role leading Web Infrastructure and UNIX Operations for Reed Business North America.
Investors & Technical Advisors
Nanigans is backed by Avalon Ventures, a San Diego, CA and Cambridge, MA based venture capital firm focusing on seed and early stage companies in life sciences and information technology. Its managing directors are former entrepreneurs driven by passionate people pursuing disruptive ideas in ever-changing market environments.
Rich Levandov is Partner at Avalon Ventures. An early lead investor in social gaming company Zynga and behavioral ad targeting company Tacoda (sold to AOL in 2007), Rich sits on Nanigans’ Board.
Rich has over 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur, operator, angel investor and venture capitalist involving a variety of cutting-edge, high growth, early-stage technology companies. It was after he co-founded Phoenix Technologies (PTEC), a company that helped launch the PC revolution, and served as an early Vice President at America Online, Inc. that he started his venture capital career.
Dr. David C. Parkes
David C. Parkes is a global authority on computational economics and Professor of Computer Science in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University and Technical Advisor at Nanigans. Dr. Parkes works with Nanigans’ engineering team on continued development of its automated bidding algorithms for the Facebook advertising marketplace. These proprietary algorithms are core features of the Nanigans Ad Engine.
Leveraging statistics and machine learning, Dr. Parkes also focuses his time at Nanigans on analyzing the cost and value of Facebook audience segments as it relates to advertising.
At Harvard, Dr. Parkes founded the Economics and Computer Science research group, and teaches classes in artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, and topics at the intersection between computer science and economics.
Dr. Edoardo Airoldi
Edoardo M. Airoldi is Assistant Professor of Statistics at Harvard University, Founder and Director of the Harvard Laboratory for Applied Statistical Methodology, and Technical Advisor at Nanigans. Dr. Airoldi’s expertise centers on statistical and machine learning methodology with application to social media analytics and marketing and complex social, communication and information networks.
He focuses his time at Nanigans on developing statistical models to increase Facebook user response and engagement and further develop the company’s artificial intelligence algorithms.
Dr. Airoldi’s academic research is supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Army Research Office, AT&T and Google.
